Easy installation and servicing are key reasons more installers choose Weheat. Frontend lead Jop Huijbers: “Development moves fast. We keep updating our products with features that make installation easier.”
Weheat aims to radically simplify heat pump installation. Commissioning usually takes considerable time: after physical installation, tests and analyses must confirm correct operation.
“We are working hard to automate as much as possible,” says frontend lead Jop Huijbers. “We continually introduce innovations and features to make installers’ work easier.”
Jop and the IT team are developing a toolkit that lets installers test optimum operation during commissioning and afterwards. “Once the heat pump is commissioned, installers can run a benchmark through the mobile app/portal for quick insights. If anything behaves unexpectedly, step-by-step guides help resolve it.”
Jop gives an example: “If a heating test cannot circulate water, the installer automatically receives a diagnostic guide. A closed zone valve or trapped air might be responsible. They then decide whether to resolve it through the portal or address a physical issue on site.”
A similar programme tests domestic hot water. Jop: “The installer enters basic details, such as cylinder volume and the number of temperature sensors.” Both tests improve efficiency by avoiding later return visits for a system that does not work correctly.
“Installers immediately know if adjustments are needed. At handover, they can be certain the system works properly, reassuring both them and residents.” Both tests have been rolled out and continue developing using field data.
The team is developing other software improvements too. Commissioning Weheat heat pumps has been simplified further. “Installers work through a specification list,” Jop explains. “They enter details such as thermostat type, whether there is a hot water cylinder and/or buffer tank and whether the setup is hybrid or all-electric. A tailored step-by-step guide follows.”
Continuous updates make every step simpler and more intuitive. “Ideally, after commissioning, the installer never needs to return unless there is a physical fault.”
If problems arise, the installer sees them in the app, such as an unusual water temperature, and can intervene promptly, remotely where possible. Faults also alert Weheat support, which contacts the relevant installer.
“We are speeding up this process. Soon, critical issues such as failure to reach legionella-prevention temperature or an offline heat pump will automatically trigger a push notification to the installer.”
We continually introduce innovations and features to make installers’ work easier.
Weheat sees installers as end users. Jop: “Everything IT develops has two aims: detect and forward errors quickly and automatically, and provide tools that help installers resolve faults fast, preferably remotely.”

This approach is possible because all heat pumps from Weheat have a 4G module communicating with the cloud. This enables external control, unlike more traditional manufacturers. Jop explains: “Their module and controls sit within the heat pump. You can read data, but remote control is limited. Our system can send any command needed for adjustment or updates, making installation and maintenance much easier.”
